Peter Lehmann Weighbridge Chardonnay 2011
Peter Lehmann

Attractive light green/gold colour leads to an appealing aroma of freshly cut white peaches. It has a beautiful soft depth of fruit on the middle palate and finishes clean and dry. A delightful example of a youthful, fruit-driven, unwooded style of Chardonnay from a classic white wine vintage. A wine to be enjoyed over the next 2-3 years.

2008 Howard Park Chardonnay
Howard Park

Pale straw in colour with a bright green hue on the rim of the glass. The wine’s aroma is defined by grapefruit and white nectarines with underlying hints of cashew nut and fresh oyster shells. Fermentation with indigenous yeast in French oak barriques provides a creamy texture with flavours of almond meal, honeyed apricots and fresh figs. A crisp acidity combined with some gun flint mineral complexities adds to this contemporary sophisticated Chardonnay.

2008 Stonewell Shiraz
Peter Lehmann

Dense black centre with a deep garnet rim. The nose shows lashings of dark plums and chocolate with hints of mint. A wine of great dignity, its structure is superbly taut, with intense depth of fruit reined in by the firm tannins. As befits a wine made in strictly limited quantities, this is a wine for posterity and may be cellared with confidence.

Deep garnet with a ruby edge, our 2008 Sonoma County Merlot generously offers aromas of ripe red cherry, black plum, bright cranberry, clove, cinnamon, hints of cedar and toasty oak followed by opulent flavors of red plum, cassis, and blackberry preserves that have been gently interlaced with clove. This medium-bodied, juicy wine is nicely structured and finishes with soft yet firm tannins hinting at chocolate. We suggest pairing this Merlot with roast duck, Philly cheese steak, grilled smoked sausages, and whole barbecued salmon.

2007 Barossa Riesling
Peter Lehmann

A very attractive green gold, beautiful floral nose with scents of spring apple blossom, and a zingingly clean, refreshingly crisp palate, showing all the hallmarks of classical Riesling in its vibrant youth.

2006 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Opaque deep red with an alluring crimson edge, our 2006 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon doesn’t hesitate to offer big fruit-forward aromas of blackberry, raspberry, blueberry, and plum accented with clove, vanilla, roasted coffee, and a lifted note of cedar. This wine stays rich and big on the palate. The round, full midpalate leads to a finish that offers ripe, youthful tannins evoking dark chocolate. This wine, which promises to age well for decades to come, is wonderfully expressive with food. We recommend Greek lamb moussaka, wild game, barbecued prime rib, and beef short ribs.

Wine is one of the most civilized things in the world and one of the most natural things of the world that has been brought to the greatest perfection, and it offers a greater range for enjoyment and appreciation than, possibly, any other purely sensory thing.
